Creepy “Gee, Your Hair Smells Terrific!” Fragrance Shampoo & Conditioner, 1975

Yikes, some product’s advertising is cringeworthy, especially in today’s times. This “Gee, Your Hair Smells Terrific!” ad is rather distasteful, bordering on harassment, with a young man sniffing and commenting on a fellow student’s hair. The whole point of the shampoo and conditioner was the fragrance: “like meadows of wildflowers in spring”. I thought the shampoo was a bit weird then, and even weirder now. I do remember buying a bottle once out of curiosity, and while my hair did smell pretty good, I never bought another bottle. Turns out that my regular Breck or Prell shampoo worked just fine… and I didn’t have any creeps sniffing my hair in class.
