Angora sweaters made a comeback in the 1980s big time. So soft, fluffy, furry and feminine! This beautiful knitting pattern is from the Fall 1980 edition of McCall’s Needlework & Crafts magazine. The gorgeous sweater is knit in stockinette, ribbed gently at cuffs. Elastic shapes the waist, gossamer ruffling trim throat, cuffs and off-center banding. Instructions below:

This is a really groovy vintage 1970 crochet pattern for a bubble stitch dress. It’s modeled by the lovely Susan Dey, before her Partridge Family TV stint.
The two-piece dress, in bubble stitch, half double crochet, has a slender skirt. Scallops trim scooped neck, sleeve, skirt edges. Easy to make! Instructions are below.

It might seem a bit odd to post a vintage 1970s Christmas recipe in July but this is in response to a reader’s request. She wanted to know if I had the recipe for a braided orange bread that was in “one of the winter issues of Seventeen magazine in the 70s”, that she had been searching for forever. As luck would have it, I went to my huge stack of Seventeen magazines and the December 1973 issue was on top. This issue had THE recipe! So here is the recipe in all its glory, and it certainly does look delicious!
