Being an unapologetic Olympics lover, I’m really enjoying seeing Kate Middleton also getting into the Olympics! Doesn’t it seem like she is at every event? With a front row seat to most venues, she can be seen clapping, shouting, jumping, and even doing The Wave. I can be seen doing these things too…only, I am in the so-called ‘comfort of my own home’. My son is my spectator; he retorts with pleas of “Oh MOM!”, along with a lot of eye-rolling. Kids!
I love that Kate looks sporty, yet elegant. Totally appropriate for a fashionable modern royal at sporting events. Looking at her hands, her nails are clipped short and they are unpolished. Just like mine. I can’t stand long nails, or fingernail polish on myself. I always wear toe polish, but fingers – never!
I love her long hair, and the fact that it tends to frizz. Mine does too.
While Kate is actually there, at the London Olympics, I will be here. Granted, I have a nine hour time delay (Thanks, NBC!), and watch from my humble home. But both Kate and I know how to rock the enthusiasm – WOOOOOHOOOOO! 😀

Marilyn, I agree completely. I have loved seeing all of the royals in the stands. And, like you, I have watched from afar, and equally enthusiastically!
I have to say that women’s Beach Volleyball is one of my faves. I have a girl crush on Misty May and Kerri Walsh, they are just so cool and fab! I’m looking forward to (enthusiastically!!!) watching their game against Jen and April tonight!
I have just subscribed to your blog (via interest in knitting) and enjoyed your comments on Kate at the Olympics. I like her, she’s very unassuming as a ‘royal’ but fits the bill perfectly. As a sportswoman she is entirely comfortable in sports clothes for this event and I’m sure that made everyone else feel comfortable and one with her on the day 🙂 . What a contrast to previous generations of Royals who ‘toffed up’ for the occasion (and maybe didn’t want to) .
Hi Trish! I’m happy to have you follow my blog 🙂
I am glad that Kate is now keeping a low profile during her early pregnancy. I too had extreme ‘morning sickness’ when I was pregnant and it is something I would not wish on my worst enemy!! Not worth trying to “put on a good face” just to make a public appearance. I know they used to trot Princess Diana out when she was also suffering the same fate, which was ghastly. Just rest and cook that royal progeny, Kate!
